How much does a Nile cruise cost?
A Nile cruise can cost anywhere from a few hundred dollars to several thousand per person, depending on the boat’s tier, how many nights you sail, the season and your cabin. Here is what to expect, and what moves the price.

Budget & mid-market cruisers
Standard and comfortable 3 to 5 star boats sailing the same Luxor to Aswan temples as the luxury fleet.

What drives the price
- Tier of boat. A standard cruiser and a five-star flagship sail the same route, but the cabins, food and service are a different world, and so is the price.
- Length. The classic options are 3 nights (Aswan to Luxor), 4 nights (Luxor to Aswan) and 7 nights (a round trip). More nights cost more overall but often less per night.
- Season. October to April is peak, with the best weather and the highest fares. May to August is hot and cheaper.
- Cabin. A standard cabin, a suite or a private balcony can change the fare significantly on the same boat.
- What is included. Most fares are full board plus guided excursions, but drinks, tips and optional tours are usually extra.

- How much does a Nile cruise cost?
- For a typical 3 to 4 night cruise, per person sharing a cabin, budget and mid-market boats run roughly $250 to $800, five-star ships roughly $800 to $1,700 or more, and dahabiyas roughly $1,100 to $2,500 or more. Longer 7-night itineraries cost proportionally more. These are indicative: the real rate depends on your dates, cabin and boat, so we confirm it live.
- Are Nile cruises all-inclusive?
- Most Nile cruise fares are full board (all meals) plus the sailing and, on the better operators, guided temple excursions with an Egyptologist and entrance fees. Drinks, tips and optional tours are usually extra. What is included varies by boat, which is one reason we quote each one individually.
- When is a Nile cruise cheapest?
- Low season is roughly May to August, when Upper Egypt is very hot and demand drops, so fares are lower. October to April is peak season with the best weather and higher prices. Shoulder months either side can offer a good balance.
- What is the cost per night on the Nile?
- It varies widely by tier. Mid-market boats can work out around $80 to $200 per person per night, five-star ships around $200 to $450, and dahabiyas around $250 to $500 or more given how small they are. Shorter cruises tend to cost a little more per night than longer ones.
- Do you show prices for each boat?
- We quote each boat live rather than publish a fixed grid, because Nile-cruise rates move with the season and cabin and many published prices online are recycled reseller templates that are out of date.
