About Merit Star II
Merit Star II is a two-mast sailing dahabiya launched in November 2024, with twelve cabins and suites: deluxe cabins of around twenty-two square metres, two presidential suites of about forty-four square metres with a private terrace and Jacuzzi, and two junior suites. French panoramic windows and individual air conditioning run throughout.
Sailings run seven, five, four or three nights, up from Luxor on Saturdays and down from Aswan on Wednesdays, following the reach past Esna, Edfu and Kom Ombo and mooring at Al Ramady Island. Meals are taken in an indoor restaurant or up on the open-air sundeck, with a bar and a reading lounge aboard.
The sundeck carries fourteen sun beds and an open-air heated Jacuzzi. Being newer and small, it keeps the slow, personal feel of a dahabiya while reaching the temples ahead of the larger ships.
