Nour El Nil
Roman
A bright dahabiya drifting to Aswan

- Fleet
- Nour El Nil
- Accommodation
- 10 cabins · 4 suites
- Guests
- Up to 20
- Route
- Esna - El Kab - Edfu - Gebel Silsileh - Kom Ombo - Aswan
- Length
- 5 nights
- Departures
- Reseller listings state 'Every Monday from Esna to Aswan' (luxorandaswan.com); i-escape describes a Monday-to-Saturday 6-day cruise. The operator's own availability search shows several overlapping departure weeks per month rather than a single fixed weekday, so the Monday figure is reseller-sourced, not operator-confirmed.
- Season
- Operates year-round except June, July and August, which are not sold due to extreme heat (nourelnil.com/search: 'We do not operate June - August due to the extreme heat'). FAQ recommends mid/late September to late May.
About Roman
Roman is a Nour El Nil dahabiya of ten cabins for up to twenty guests, newly built with noticeably larger cabins and a bright, airy interior that keeps the intimate feel of a sailing boat. It follows the five-night, six-day route from Esna to Aswan, some 250 kilometres of quiet river.
The itinerary moves at the speed of the wind, from Esna and the Temple of Horus at Edfu to the narrows and quarries at Gebel el-Silsila and the Ptolemaic temple at Kom Ombo. An open sailing day leaves time for a morning walk, a swim from the boat or simply the passing bank.
All meals, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks are included and served in the open air on deck, with a shaded sun deck, salon and lounge aboard. Roman sails year-round except through the summer heat of June to August.
