About Le Yacht
Le Yacht is a private sailing vessel operated by Extension Travel on the Luxor to Aswan stretch of the Nile. Ten suites over three decks take a maximum of twenty guests: seven Junior Suites, two Presidential Suites and one Royal Suite, each with a large window onto the river that actually opens. The hull runs 60 metres by 9.
It runs two programmes, both departing Saturday: seven nights as a Luxor round trip, and five nights one way from Luxor to Aswan. The sailing calls at sites the motor cruisers skip. Beyond Karnak, Luxor and the West Bank, the route takes in the rock tombs at El Kab and the sandstone quarries at Gebel el-Silsila, with dinners and overnight moorings at river islands. Fares are full board with an onboard drinks package, and an Egyptologist guide sails with the boat.
Rates rise in peak periods: the operator applies a compulsory 50% supplement over Christmas, New Year's Eve and Easter, and a suite costs about 70% above the double-cabin rate, so a festive-date suite can run to roughly double the quiet-season fare.

The seven-night Luxor round trip below is the operator's own published programme. The five-night Luxor to Aswan sailing is the same first five days, ending with disembarkation at Aswan. Stops flex with wind and interest, which is the point of a sailing boat rather than a scheduled cruiser.

Board at Luxor and take lunch aboard, then the two East Bank temples. Where arrival is late, Luxor Temple alone is visited. The night is moored on the west bank.

Luxor West Bank, then sail to Esna
The Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon, then lunch aboard as the boat sails north to Esna with tea on deck. Night moored beside an island near Esna.
