About Lazuli Luxor
Lazuli Luxor is a small twin-masted dahabiya that carries no more than ten guests across five cabins and a balcony suite, moving under sail on the calm stretch between Esna and Aswan. The days are unhurried: the boat drifts with the wind, moors at river islands like Fawaza and Herdiab, and stops at temples the larger cruisers skip, among them Edfu, Gebel el-Silsila and Kom Ombo, with a private Egyptologist along for the sites.
Meals are full board, cooked fresh by the onboard chef and served as candlelit dinners on the open deck or ashore on an island. The upper deck holds the dining table, a lounge and a jacuzzi, with solar power for hot water and light, air conditioning below, and a motor boat on hand for the hours when the wind falls quiet.
Itineraries run three to five nights in either direction, ending near Aswan and Philae, and the pace stays the same throughout: sailing, mooring, and time ashore without the crowds.
