Navigating Old Cairo without a guide can be hectic, so this door-to-door private tour lets you soak up the atmosphere without the hassle. The experience focuses on Cairo’s Christian heritage and takes you to some of the area’s most significant sites in comfort and at your own pace. You’ll visit the 7th-century Hanging Church and the crypt beneath the Church of St. Sergius and Bacchus, where some believe Mary, Joseph and the infant Jesus once rested. As you move through the neighbourhood, you’ll also explore the Ben Ezra Synagogue. Along the way, the tour gives you time to take in the buildings and the streets that connect them. The outing finishes with a lunch at a local restaurant, offering a chance to relax and reflect on the sites you’ve seen.

The tour of a lifetime! Emman, our guide, was efficient, with excellent English, and vast knowledge which she communicated in an interesting way. Instead of simply a list of facts and dates, she told stories of the thousands of years of Egyptian history. She was patient and had a sense of humor. The camel did not make me feel comfortable. I didn’t know how high they are and how wide the saddle is, but survived! We left with vibrant memories of the pyramids against a bright blue sky, now in our hearts. Joseph, our young driver, was where and when needed. Well done from start to finish!
