Cruise to the Nile to one of Luxor’s city hidden gems with Iberotel Lotus and visit one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt “Dendera” which is dedicated to the goddess Hathor. Hathor was among the most important and popular deities in ancient Egypt. She was associated with music, joy, dance, and motherhood, she was also known as the lady of the sky. One of the primary celebrations that took place at Dendera was for the Egyptian New Year. The night before the new year, a statue of Hathor was brought out on a shrine and placed on the roof of the temple to receive the sun’s first rays, which symbolically renewed and the rejuvenated the goddess. This is a terrible experience, I had to be at the hotel at 7.00 AM and the trip was cancelled without any notice!!! Terrible experience, please refund my money and also the cost of the two taxis to get here!!!
Excellent way to spend a day on the Nile and visit the stunning Temple of Hathor at Dendera. A lovely boat with excellent service from the friendly and helpful crew. The relaxing journeys sitting on the sun deck, provided the chance to see local life pass by, and a beautiful sunset. The Temple itself is really worth visiting, although as with all temples we could have spent more time there than we had. Highly recommend this trip.
