DO NOT TAKE!!! The food tour itself was ok. Our guide wasn’t very talkative at the start, but my wife is good at getting people talking so he opened up a bit over the course of our time together. The food was simple local cuisine, pretty good. The real travesty was the shopping stops at the end of the tour. We were taken to what were described as government sponsored shops. No pressure to buy. There wasn’t pressure, but at an establishment called Kenouz Spice House we decided to buy a small amount of tea and spice. The owner was very friendly (too friendly in retrospect). The con was adding a

Mahmoud was a wonderful guide - expert, knowledgeable, and super friendly. I really recommend this tour if you have a few hours in Cairo to spare.
In the images you can see that they take you to quite a few places but in reality there were not so many, but it still seemed a rather improvised tour, you understand the culture and the place to go but hygiene leaves much to be desired
