Five days that thread together the two halves of ancient Egypt: the monuments of Cairo and the temple-lined banks of the Nile between Luxor and Aswan. You begin on the Giza Plateau beneath the Great Pyramid of Khufu and the Sphinx, then step into the Grand Egyptian Museum before wandering the medieval lanes of Old Cairo and the stalls of Khan el-Khalili. A short domestic flight carries you south, where a cruise ship becomes your floating hotel. Sailing between Aswan and Luxor you moor at the island temple of Philae, the great High Dam, the twin sanctuary of Sobek and Horus at Kom Ombo and the towering falcon temple of Edfu, drifting through the Esna lock along the way.    Day 1 – Cairo: Giza Pyramids & the Grand Egyptian Museum

   Meet your guide for the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the neighbouring pyramids and the Great Sphinx, then the Grand Egyptian Museum. The afternoon takes in Old Cairo and the bazaar of Khan el-Khalili.

   Day 2 – Fly to Aswan: Philae Temple & the High Dam

   A domestic flight to Aswan and embarkation on the cruise. Visits to the island temple of Philae and the Aswan High Dam before the boat begins its journey north.

   Day 3 – Sailing to Kom Ombo & Edfu

   Cruise downriver to the twin temple of Sobek and Horus at Kom Ombo, then the vast falcon temple of Edfu, passing through the Esna lock as you sail toward Luxor.

   Day 4 – Luxor East Bank: Karnak & Luxor Temple
