In Cairo, this food experience offers two ways to explore the city: a route through local neighbourhoods or a more luxurious option. Along the way you will visit hidden gems, special restaurants and food stands that many tourists never hear of. The tasting includes a wide selection of traditional Egyptian foods, drinks and desserts—around 40 different types—so you will sample a broad range of flavours and preparations as you move through the city. The tour is designed to introduce you to Egyptian culture and traditions through food. Hosts will be available for open discussion about cuisine and its place in daily life, history and customs, so you can ask questions and share observations. The menu is flexible: if you have already tried some dishes, organisers may replace them with others you haven’t yet sampled. Throughout, the emphasis stays on authentic local flavours and learning through tasting rather than a fixed itinerary.

Magadin was a fantastic guide. We tried so many different foods and got to visit different parts of Cairo and Giza and even rode in a tuk tuk.

Learn about what you are eating, how to eat it and where to buy it on your Egypt visit. Our guide Maggy was lovely and helpful. We enjoyed meeting other couples on the tour from other countries. Walking is over rough ground so wear walking shoes. The food was amazing, varied and way more than we could eat. We really enjoyed the whole experience.
There is a lot of delicious food to try. Make sure you're super hungry and only have a little of each thing.
