Eat inside the Giza Pyramids site: tickets, hours, dated prices and dinner rules for 9 Pyramids Lounge, Khufu's, Ladurée and Breadfast By The Pyramids.

Quick answer: The main places to eat inside the fenced Giza Pyramids site in 2026 are 9 Pyramids Lounge (also written Nine Pyramids Lounge), Khufu's, Ladurée and Breadfast By The Pyramids, plus Khufu's Bistro for dinner. For breakfast or lunch you need a plateau ticket (EGP 700 for a foreign adult, about $13.50) and the shuttle bus from the Visitors Center. Khufu's and 9 Pyramids Lounge close in the afternoon. Ladurée and Breadfast By The Pyramids also serve dinner: after 6pm Ladurée says no additional entry fee is charged, and Breadfast By The Pyramids says dinner needs no entry ticket.

Checked 11 October 2026 against each venue's own pages, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and Egyptian press. Dollar figures are approximate, at about 52 EGP to the dollar.

Breadfast By The Pyramids: Egyptian and Mediterranean plates, coffee and dinner

Breadfast By The Pyramids was created by Breadfast, the Egyptian grocery, bakery and coffee brand, and has traded under this name since at least spring 2026. It sits inside the Pyramids complex in a building the venue does not name. Ahram Online (June 2025) listed a Breadfast Café in the King Khufu Restaurant Complex; no source confirms it is the same unit.

  • View: its FAQ describes a terrace with a direct view of the Great Pyramids; it does not say which pyramids are in frame.
  • Hours: its location, FAQ and instructions pages say 9am to midnight, its Instagram 9am to 4pm and 6pm to midnight, and its homepage still shows daytime service to 4pm and 5pm, so confirm your slot when you book. The menu lists breakfast from 8am to 12:30pm and the full menu from 1:30pm.
  • Getting there: park at the main gate (parking fee), tell staff you are going to the restaurant and take the shuttle.

Timing a meal around your pyramids visit

The Ministry's ticket platform lists opening at 7am with last entry at 4pm (8am and 3:30pm in Ramadan); its main site lists 8am to 4pm. See the monuments first, then eat: Khufu's and 9 Pyramids Lounge start breakfast at 9am, and Khufu's last order at 3pm leaves room for a late lunch. Khufu's is busiest at weekend breakfast, so book that ahead.

Going inside the Great Pyramid costs EGP 1,000 extra (about $19; students EGP 500, about $9.60); read can you go inside the pyramids and book your meal for afterwards. For dinner, Ladurée's page says the pyramids are lit nightly from 8pm to 11pm.

Tickets, gates and the shuttle

Camels resting on the sand below one of the Giza pyramids

The main entrance is now the Great Gate on the Cairo-Fayoum road, which replaced the old Mena House gate in April 2025; Khufu's calls it the Fayoum Gate. Inside, the Visitors Center has security screening, ticket machines, wheelchair access and the electric shuttle terminal. Private cars and tour buses can no longer drive onto the plateau, so you park at the Visitors Center (the Ministry lists an EGP 25 car and taxi ticket, about 50 cents).

The plateau ticket costs EGP 700 for a foreign adult and EGP 350 for a student (about $13.50 and $6.70); under-6s go free. It does not cover the inside of any pyramid. Khufu's and Breadfast By The Pyramids suggest buying it in advance on the Ministry's platform, egymonuments.com, and Khufu's asks you to allow time for entry, so arrive early. Our Pyramids of Giza tickets page and Pyramids of Giza guide cover the full visit.

In the evening, Ladurée says no additional entry fee is charged after 6pm (you pay parking at the Visitors Center), and Breadfast By The Pyramids says no entry ticket is needed for dinner; Khufu's Bistro does not say. We found no step-free access information for any of the four restaurants.

Booking and dress codes

  • 9 Pyramids Lounge: books by phone via its social media; no online booking, published policy or dress code found.
  • Khufu's: its FAQ says walk-ins are welcome but not guaranteed, and it is often full in high season; its Experience page says visits are by reservation, so book ahead. No formal dress code, but it asks for modest, smart casual clothes. Children welcome if supervised. Dishes cannot be made without garlic or onion.
  • Ladurée: reservations highly recommended by day, mandatory after 6pm. No dress code stated.
  • Breadfast By The Pyramids: booking strongly recommended through its online form. Some dates need a prepaid deposit and some periods a per-person minimum spend (amounts not published); tables are held 15 minutes and seated for up to 90 minutes. No dress code stated.

Alternatives just outside the gates

The 139 Pavilion at the Marriott Mena House, beside the old Mena House gate and outside the ticketed site, has indoor and outdoor seating with pyramid views and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. We also list a lunch with a pyramids view at the Great Pyramid Inn, from EGP 3,818 (about $73; 4.9 from 14 reviews), and a rooftop dinner facing the Sound and Light show with pickup, from EGP 2,354 (about $45; 5.0 from 8 reviews). For the rest of the city, see where to eat in Cairo.

Booking a pyramids tour that includes the meal

"Includes the meal" varies, so read the inclusions. Per person, lowest listed option, checked 11 October 2026:

We do not list a tour that includes Ladurée or Breadfast By The Pyramids. For more options see private Giza pyramids access or browse Giza tours. For a private guide who times the day around a table at any of the four, send us the restaurant, date and group size on WhatsApp.

Întrebări frecvente

Do you need a pyramids ticket to eat at the restaurants on the plateau?

For daytime meals, yes. 9 Pyramids Lounge, Khufu's, Ladurée and Breadfast By The Pyramids all sit inside the fenced site, so you buy a plateau ticket (EGP 700 for a foreign adult, about $13.50, checked 11 October 2026) and take the shuttle from the Visitors Center. In the evening Ladurée says there is no extra entry fee and Breadfast By The Pyramids says no entry ticket is needed for dinner; book ahead for both.

How much does it cost to eat at Khufu's restaurant?

Khufu's says breakfast averages about EGP 1,500++ per person (about $29) and the lunch set menu starts at EGP 1,950++ (about $38), with taxes and service added on top (checked 11 October 2026). Add the EGP 700 plateau ticket (about $13.50). Dinner is at the separate Khufu's Bistro, at a set EGP 4,980 per person all-inclusive (about $96).

Does Khufu's have a minimum charge or a dress code?

Its FAQ says there is no official minimum charge, but seated guests are expected to have a meal; drinks-only guests use the bar if there is space. There is no formal dress code, though it asks for modest, smart casual clothes given the setting. Khufu's Bistro requires smart casual and admits ages 16 and up only.

How do you book 9 Pyramids Lounge?

The venue lists a phone line for bookings on its social media; we found no online booking system or published reservation policy. The other route is a tour that includes the meal: tours we list with breakfast or lunch at 9 Pyramids Lounge start from EGP 1,831 (about $35) per person, with entrance fees included. You can also send us your date and group size on WhatsApp for a private Giza day planned around a meal there.

9 Pyramids Lounge or Khufu's: which should you choose?

They suit different meals. Khufu's restaurant serves contemporary Egyptian food with a set lunch, ranked No. 1 on MENA's 50 Best in 2026, open 9am to 4pm with last orders at 3pm. 9 Pyramids Lounge is a relaxed indoor and outdoor venue on the southern side of the plateau serving Egyptian staples, open 9am to 5pm; Egyptian Streets (May 2025) describes it as suited to families and larger groups. Both need a plateau ticket.

Can you have dinner at the pyramids?

Yes, on the plateau at Ladurée (6pm to 11pm, reservation mandatory, set menu only, dinner sets reported at EGP 3,000 per person, about $58, in April 2026), Breadfast By The Pyramids (evening service to midnight, per its Instagram) and Khufu's Bistro (6pm to 11pm, ages 16 and up, set price EGP 4,980, about $96). Khufu's and 9 Pyramids Lounge close in the afternoon. Ladurée's page says the pyramids are lit every night from 8pm to 11pm.

Is there a cafe at the pyramids?

Yes. Ladurée serves pastries, macarons and coffee, and Breadfast By The Pyramids serves specialty coffee and matcha; both are inside the fenced site, and by day you need a plateau ticket to reach them. When the shuttle stations launched in 2022, the main ones also had outlets selling drinks and fast food.

Can you bring your own food to the pyramids?

We found no current official rule. When the first plateau restaurant opened in 2020, the minister said food and drink would be allowed only in specified areas, and when the shuttle stations launched in 2022, the main ones had outlets selling drinks and fast food, plus shaded seating. Restaurants set their own rules: Breadfast By The Pyramids turns away outside cakes, flowers and balloons, and Khufu's Bistro bans outside cakes.
