The 15 Most-Booked Experiences in Egypt (2026)

By The This is Egypt Editors1 July 20265 min read

Ranked by real review volume across seven booking platforms, not opinion. The tours travellers actually book most in Egypt, with prices and ratings.

Every "best of Egypt" list is somebody's opinion. This one is a ranking by evidence: we counted the real reviews on nearly 23,000 bookable tours across seven platforms, and these are the fifteen individual experiences travellers book and review the most. The prices are per person in Egyptian pounds, with ratings out of 5.

The ranking

  1. Luxor Day Trip from Hurghada, small group with the Tutankhamun tomb (7,762 reviews, 4.84) from 3,640 EGP. The single most-reviewed tour in Egypt: a Red Sea beach holiday turned into a day among the pharaohs.
  2. Cairo: Pyramids and Great Sphinx private tour with camel ride (7,292 reviews, 4.91) from 2,377 EGP. The highest-rated of the top tier, and the classic Giza day.
  3. Hurghada: 3 Islands, Dolphins and Snorkel yacht trip with lunch (7,036 reviews, 4.68) from 2,255 EGP. The most-booked Red Sea boat day.
  4. From Hurghada: Cairo and Giza Highlights day tour (6,930 reviews, 4.55) from 3,764 EGP. The long road trip to the Pyramids from the beach.
  5. Hurghada: Luxury cruise to Orange Bay with lunch (6,173 reviews, 4.88) from 2,630 EGP. The postcard turquoise sandbank.
  6. Hurghada: Orange Bay with snorkel, breakfast and seafood lunch (5,761 reviews, 4.92) from 1,726 EGP. The best-rated big-volume Orange Bay trip.
  7. Hurghada: Royal Seascope submarine cruise with snorkel stop (5,204 reviews, 4.44) from 1,070 EGP. The dry way to see the reef, and a family favourite.
  8. Cairo: Grand Egyptian Museum, Pyramids and Sphinx tour with lunch (3,807 reviews, 4.7) from 4,136 EGP. The new museum paired with Giza.
  9. Hurghada: Speedboat, dolphins, snorkelling and 2 islands (3,610 reviews, 4.56) from 1,776 EGP.

  13. From Aswan: Abu Simbel Temple day trip with hotel pickup (3,185 reviews, 4.45) from 3,466 EGP.
  14. Giza Complex skip-the-line entry and Grand Egyptian Museum combo (3,003 reviews, 4.7) from 3,087 EGP.

What the data actually tells you

Three patterns jump out of the numbers, and they are more useful than any top-ten opinion:

  • Hurghada dominates. Eight of the fifteen most-booked experiences in the whole country start in Hurghada. The Red Sea, not Cairo, is where the sheer volume of bookings happens, and its boat trips and quad safaris are the workhorses of Egyptian tourism.
  • The Pyramids are the other pole. Every Cairo entry is a Giza or museum tour. Nobody comes to Cairo and skips the Pyramids, and the private camel-ride version is the highest-rated tour in the top tier at 4.91.
  • Long day trips are hugely popular. The number one tour, and several others, are people reaching across the country for a day, Hurghada to Luxor, Hurghada to Cairo, Aswan to Abu Simbel. Egyptians and operators have made these marathon days smooth enough that travellers book them in their thousands.

How to use this list

If you want the safe, proven choices, book from this list: these are the experiences with the deepest track record and the most feedback behind them. Notice that the most-booked is not always the best-rated. The Orange Bay breakfast trip at number six holds a 4.92, higher than several tours above it, and the cheapest options, the quad safaris at 723 EGP, prove you do not need to spend big to join the crowd. For the tours that punch above their price on rating, see our best-value guide.

Most-booked is not the same as best-rated

It is worth separating popularity from quality. The number one tour by volume, the Luxor day trip from Hurghada, holds a very strong 4.84, but the highest ratings in the top tier belong to the Orange Bay breakfast trip (4.92) and the Pyramids private tour with a camel ride (4.91). A few high-volume trips rate lower, like the Royal Seascope submarine at 4.44, popular because it is cheap and family-friendly rather than because it is the best day on the water. Use the ranking to see what is proven and busy, then cross-check the rating before you book.

What the list says about planning your trip

If you were to build a first Egypt trip purely from what travellers actually book, it would look like this: a few days on the Red Sea in Hurghada for boat trips and quad safaris, a Cairo stay built around the Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum, and one big day trip, either Hurghada to Luxor or Aswan to Abu Simbel. That is not a coincidence. It is the shape of the most-booked list, and it is a sound itinerary precisely because so many travellers have voted for it with their bookings.

Common questions

What is the most booked tour in Egypt?

By real review volume across seven platforms, the most-booked single tour is the Luxor Day Trip from Hurghada (small group, with the Tutankhamun tomb), with more than 7,700 reviews and a 4.84 rating, from about 3,640 EGP. The Pyramids and Sphinx private tour with a camel ride is a close second and higher rated at 4.91.

What are the most popular things to do in Egypt?

The data shows two poles: Red Sea trips from Hurghada (island and snorkel boat days, Orange Bay cruises, submarine trips and quad safaris) and Giza Pyramids tours from Cairo, plus long day trips like Hurghada to Luxor and Aswan to Abu Simbel. Eight of the top fifteen most-booked experiences start in Hurghada.

Is Hurghada more popular than Cairo for tours?

By booking volume, yes. Eight of Egypt's fifteen most-booked experiences start in Hurghada, mostly Red Sea boat trips and desert safaris, while the Cairo entries are all Pyramids and museum tours. The Red Sea generates the largest share of bookings.

What is the cheapest of Egypt's most-booked tours?

The Hurghada desert quad bike safaris, from about 723 EGP (roughly 15 USD) per person, are the cheapest experiences in the most-booked ranking, and they draw thousands of reviews.

Is the most-booked tour also the best?

Not always. The most-booked tours have the deepest track record, but the highest ratings sometimes sit lower down the list. The Orange Bay breakfast trip rates 4.92, above several more-booked tours, and the Pyramids private tour leads the top tier at 4.91. Cross-check booking volume with rating and price.
