Arrived 2am into our hotel so arranged for this trip as it was ideal due to the time and pickup from the hotel (not able to check in yet) and also sunrise camel tour. Noor our guide was so knowledgable, friendly and accommodating to our needs. Couldn’t have asked for a better 1st experience and introduction to the wonder of Cairo. He got us a traditional Egyptian breakfast after the camel ride which was tasty, then onto a personal tour of the pyramids, spilling his wealth of knowledge on us and also stopping us from getting any hassle for camel rides, horse rides etc due to being with him. The driver arrived a bit late but ok...in the dark before sunup we were driven to an underpass. Felt sketchy. Got on the sitting camel.... The ride I envisioned would have great pyramid views. This ride was long aside the major highway. The camel guy was not concerned at all with the level of difficulty. We finally got to the destination that has to be at least a half mile from the giza pyramids. It was not a good picture. The camel guy smoked the whole time which blew back on us. The ride was too far. We got off after the photo... Because of how the camel guy had me sitting and holding the sa
Total scam. Never turned up, I waited an hour after getting up at 4am. I read the other reviews thinking it would be fine, but it wasn’t. They refunded me though, but I’d avoid and not risk it.
Horrible experience not only with the tour agency but with Viator itself. The tour agency never replied to my messages about pick up time and location. I constantly messaged them. I even googled the agency to message them privately through WhatsApp and still nothing. The day came and no word from them. I messaged Viator to get our money back and they said they couldn’t because we didn’t update the pick up location. We simply couldn’t. We aren’t staying in a hotel, but renting an apartment. And Viator wouldn’t understand that. So $240 down the drain with horrible customer service. If I could gi
It was a scam. The tour operator didn't show up. I got up at 4 to be ready for 04.30. Later I found out that Giza pyramid plateau does not open till 07.10 so how could I have gone camel riding? I wouldn't. Therefore scam! Viator refunded me quickly. But they couldn't get through to operator either. Was very disappointed by my start to the holiday, but I organised something myself.
Mahmoud Hafez was the best tour guide ever!!!! We got to do a camel ride at sunrise and then do a pyramid tour with him afterwards. Felt safe the entire time and he was so much fun! We got to the pyramids before anyone else - we were the FIRST ones there so no crowds at all. He took great photos of us as well. He also taught us words in arabic , took us to a traditional Egyptian breakfast (food was SO good) and took us to a couple local shops (scents/perfume and artwork). He was so funny and super informative as well. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Egypt!

“The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. He came with a driver and escorted us to all the interesting areas in Giza and made us feel a bit like locals walking around with him. It was great thank you.”
