Imad was my driver and he was very attentive and kind. He took me and from the market and drove me around to see Cairo and visit the shops, always attentive to my needs. We had koshari for lunch, drinks included, and it was great! Some of the shopkeeps in the itinerary were respectful (Noha from the Mamluk Jewellery and Bazaar was extremely kind, as were the gentlemen from Merit Bazaar and 3 Pyramids Papyrus institute), others not so much and were very pushy. Like the other reviews mention, you are first taken to 5 stores (spices, cotton, papyrus, jewelry, oils). These are standard--they give their spiel & want you to purchase from them. The jewelry shop itself seemed extremely overpriced. The guide waits at the front during these times. After the shops, you're then taken to the market. I found the market itself to be underwhelming. Mostly it's all trinkets and all the stands repeat. Our guide Marsil was very kind and knowledgeable, and our driver John was kind as well. Our guide Ehab was very knowledgeable and helped guide us through the khan el-khalili. The lunch spot they took us to was very good. Would highly recommend going to the bazaar with a tour guide. Ehab made our experience so much better.
