Egypt's two most iconic sights in one relaxed half day: the Giza pyramids by daylight, then the Nile by sail. You begin on the plateau, where the Great Pyramid of Khufu — the last of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world still standing — rises alongside the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure. From the panoramic viewpoint out on the sand you get all three lined up together, the classic photograph, before heading down to meet the Great Sphinx and the valley temple of Khafre, its huge granite blocks still in place after 4,500 years.
