Overview

On this felucca ride in Aswan, you’ll be picked up from your hotel or Nile cruise and taken by car to board a traditional felucca for a relaxing sail around Elephantine Island. Along the way, you’ll glide past the island’s riverfront views and visit the Botanical Gardens, noted for plants imported from around the world. As you move through the gardens and around the island, you’ll learn about a bit of local history: in 1899 Lord Kitchener used the island as a resting place for his campaign and referred to it as the “Lord’s house.” After his death, the island came under the care of the ministry of agriculture. From there you’ll be transferred back to your hotel or Nile cruise in Aswan.
