Alexandria Over day tour from Cairo With Lunch
A trusted partner experience, hand-picked and featured on This is Egypt.

Overview
A representative will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo and transfer you to Alexandria for a full day out. Along the way you will visit Pompey’s Pillar, a monumental column erected in honour of the Emperor Diocletian at the end of the 4th century and originally part of the Temple of Serapis. You will then see the Catacombs, the largest Roman cemetery in the area, carved into three levels of rock. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Alexandria. After lunch, you will explore the Qaitbay Citadel, built on the site of the ancient pharaohs’ lighthouse of Alexandria, and then visit the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. You will also see Montazah Palace and its surrounding area before returning to Cairo. Throughout the day you will move between these historic sites and gain a sense of Alexandria’s layered past, from Roman tombs to medieval fortifications and modern cultural landmarks.
