We were picked up by Nasr Youssef at 07:00 as planned assuming our tour started at 09:00 in Alexandria but it was actually starting at 10:00. He was the slowest driver on the desert highway. He rarely went more than 80 km/hr; everyone else even heavily loaded trucks hurtled past us. We finally arrived to meet our guide at 10:15. Overall, the tour itself was interesting but we were driven an hour in gridlock traffic to what had been a Palace. It’s not open for viewing and much of the compound is now hotels. Then we had to go an hour back through traffic before getting on the highway. We left Al
