رحلة إبحار بالفلوكة على نهر النيل في القاهرة

It was a sweet evening. The tour guide and diver picked me up from my hotel, then on our way to the felucca, the guide picked up my koshari dinner. The ride was quiet, with just me, the felucca driver, and my guide. I got to see the fountain go off in the Nile, and see a peaceful sunset. I booked the night before as an Egyptian friend recommended I do a felucca ride, and this was a beautiful trip.

We ran out of time to do this in Luxor so we tried to do it in Cairo. Everything was great with the guide, driver and boat but the bridges that cross the river are too low for the felucca to pass under. Had we known that we would be in a very limited space we would have passed on the activity. Again, the people were great and we had fun but it would have been nice to have more of the river accessible for the trip.

If you have nothing better to do and need to waste 45 minutes of your time, then do this. Otherwise don’t bother. We got picked up from our hotel by our guide and driver. I’m not sure what the guide was there for as she was totally clueless about anything to do with Cairo. Any questions we asked about the buildings, culture, food she just shrugged. For the last 15 minutes of the ride she was on her phone. Very rude! We opted for the motor felucca, and we were able to go further up the river, but we just couldn’t wait for it to end. A guide is supposed to be engaging, fun and knowledgeable. I s
