A horse, an empty beach and the Red Sea turning gold — this short ride trades the resort pool for the shoreline and the desert behind it. After pickup you're matched to a calm, well-trained horse and given a quick briefing, then set off along the sand at whatever pace suits you, from a gentle walk for first-timers to a canter for confident riders. The route runs where the desert meets the sea, following the tideline with the water on one side and open dunes on the other, and turns inland far enough to feel the quiet of the Eastern Desert before looping back. It's timed for late afternoon, so the sand has cooled and the light is soft, with the sun dropping toward the hills as you ride — the reason most people book it. Guides stay with you throughout, so it works for families and beginners as much as for experienced riders, and there's time to stop for photos along the way. Transfers from Marsa Alam hotels are included. Wear long trousers and closed shoes, and bring a little sun cover for the ride out.
