Mount Sinai and Catherine's Monastery Tour from Sharm El-Sheikh

This experience takes you on a night climb up Moses Mountain to the summit of Mount Sinai, where you will ascend around 750 steps in the dark. At the top you can enjoy a panoramic view of the sunrise as the valley below comes into light. Along the way the atmosphere is quiet and focused on the approaching dawn. After the summit you will descend toward St. Catherine Monastery for a guided visit. The monastery compound includes an eleventh‑century mosque and an Orthodox Greek monastery held within thick, citadel‑like walls, rich in religious and historical features. Inside the church you will see the boxes that contain the body of Saint Catherine. On the far side of the church you will find the holy valley, regarded as the most sacred area in Sinai, where God ordered the prophet Moses to “off your shoes because you stand in the holy land.” The visit offers close encounters with ancient architecture and important religious sites as you explore this unique mountain landscape and its monastery.
