You will visit two of Cairo’s most important museums, beginning at the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities at Tahrir Square. As you move through its galleries, you will see a unique collection of ancient Egyptian treasures, including the famous golden collection of King Tutankhamen, and learn about the artefacts that shaped Egypt’s ancient history. The experience continues at The National Museum of Egyptian Civilisation, which presents a comprehensive view of Egyptian civilisation from prehistory to the present day. The displays take a multidisciplinary, thematic approach designed to highlight both tangible and intangible heritage, so you will gain a broad sense of Egypt’s cultural development. You will also have the chance to enter the Mummy Room and see the real mummies of ancient Egyptian pharaohs and kings, adding a direct and memorable connection to the people behind the artefacts.

Due to the size of the museum and the large amount of artifacts, this tour was extremely helpful. Our guide was very knowledgeable and made sure to cover all of the high points. We left with so much great information and memories that will last a lifetime.
Sayed was our onsite Egyptologist and wow does he know a lot! We had a bit of a history lesson outside the museum while all the tour groups queued up and then walked through the museum at our own pace. It was a great way to see the museum and get more insight into the history without trying to follow a large tour group leader. Definitely one of the highlights of our visit. By next year, this may be at the new Grand Egyptian Museum! As all the tour groups seem to arrive at the museum at 9am, suggest booking your visit a bit later. Not too late in the hot months because the museum does not have
