This experience takes you through some of Cairo’s most important historic sites. You will admire artifacts from Ancient Egypt at the Egyptian Museum, seeing objects that illustrate the civilisation’s art and daily life. From there you will visit the Salah El Din Citadel, constructed in 1183 AD, and explore the fortress precinct where the Mohamed Ali Mosque, built inside the castle in the 19th century, stands within the citadel walls. You will also tour Coptic Cairo, the area that pre-dated the city of Cairo and contains many historic churches and a Roman fort. Along the way you will move between different layers of the city’s past, encountering religious and military architecture that speak to Egypt’s long and varied history. The visit offers a compact view of ancient artefacts, medieval fortifications and Christian heritage, presented as connected parts of Cairo’s story.

This is a nice tour, but Hassanin my tour guide showed up 30 minutes late. I was booked for 9:00a.m. and he showed up at 9:27a.m. That’s extremely unprofessional. I was tired as it was my last day, and Hassanin, and the driver was talking about me in their language. It was extremely rude. He had a problem with me being tired as these tours add seeing these little shops along the way such as Papyrus and Lotus Flower, but I had already seen these things. I wanted to see exactly what I paid for and go back to my hotel. Why not talk in English with your passenger in the car if you’re not talking a

We would have liked our tickets and meals to have been covered by the cost of the tour (even if the fee was higher), and would have enjoyed more history and explanation of the beautiful sights we were seeing. Aladeens photos were nice though.

We would have liked our tickets and meals to have been covered by the cost of the tour (even if the fee was higher), and would have enjoyed more history and explanation of the beautiful sights we were seeing. Aladeens photos were nice though.”
