Leave the bustle of Cairo and travel into the desert to explore two of Egypt’s oldest sites. In Saqqara you’ll see the Pyramid of Djosser, one of the world’s earliest stone structures, and learn about its place in the development of ancient Egyptian architecture. You’ll also visit Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt from around 5,000 years ago, where the ruins and monuments give a sense of the city’s former importance. A guide will be with you throughout the trip to help deepen your understanding of these ancient attractions. Along the way you’ll also visit two pyramids of King Sneferu, gaining further insight into the evolution of pyramid building. The experience blends on-site exploration with informative commentary, so you’ll come away with a clearer picture of how these sites fit into Egypt’s long history.
