This experience will take you to several churches and mosques so you can explore their architecture and history. As you move between sites, you will learn about the background of each place and the role it has played in the local community. The visit will focus on the buildings themselves, their stories and their cultural significance. Along the way, you will see the unique designs of each church and mosque. You will be able to compare architectural features, decorative details and the different styles used in sacred spaces. Brief explanations will link what you see to the history behind it, helping you understand how each building developed and why it looks the way it does. Paula our guide picked us up at the hotel lobby. After that we started a perfect tour through the old and historical churches and mosques in Cairo. First we visited the Muhammad Ali Mosque, where we had a nice introduction into the history. Then we continued to the Greek Orthodox and Coptic Church and the Ezra Synagogue in the old town of Cairo. The trip was very interesting and Paula explained a lot, especially how the Churches we founded and how the different religions work together. A different view.
