This private half-day guided tour explores the temples and tombs of the Theban Necropolis on Luxor’s West Bank. A door-to-door private transfer in an air-conditioned vehicle will collect you from your Luxor hotel or cruise ship and return you afterwards. The tour focuses on the quieter, historic sites away from the Nile’s east bank. You will visit the Mortuary Temple of King Ramesses III at Madinat Habu, where the temple’s monumental architecture and fortified walls show its former power. At the Valley of the Nobles you will move through family tombs and see the tomb decoration that reflects the lives and status of ancient officials. The visit also includes Deir El Madina (the Valley of the Artisans), where you can soak up the atmosphere of the workers’ village and learn about the daily lives of the craftsmen who served the royal tombs. Along the way your guide will explain the history and significance of the sites so you can better understand this section of the Theban Necropolis.
