You will set out on a hike through Wadi Degla, the gorge that links Cairo to the Red Sea. The area doesn’t involve a long road, so it makes a convenient escape from Cairo’s bustle. Wadi Degla offers a range of trails for different skill levels, so both beginners and experienced hikers should find a suitable route. Along the way you will climb the left side of the canyon to its pinnacle, then descend a few metres to explore the bats' cave. After that you will continue down to the canyon’s base, trekking for several kilometres before ascending the right side. From that vantage you will begin the return journey. On the way back, you and the group can either choose a more challenging descent to the canyon floor or take a gentler walk toward the exit, depending on energy levels.
