A short drive from Cairo, this day tour to El Fayoum takes you into a contrasting landscape of desert dunes, lakes and archaeological sites. You will visit Wadi El Rayan Waterfalls and see Egypt’s only natural waterfalls set against a wide desert backdrop. Nearby, Magic Lake offers a surreal scene of water surrounded by golden sand where you can relax or take a dip and find plenty of photo opportunities. Along the way you will stop in Tunis Village, known for its pottery, local art and warm hospitality. The tour continues to Lake Qarun, where you will enjoy panoramic views of one of the world’s oldest natural lakes. You will also explore Wadi El Hitan (Valley of the Whales), a UNESCO World Heritage site that contains ancient whale fossils preserved in the desert. As you move through these locations, you will experience a mix of natural beauty and historical interest that highlights a less-seen side of Egypt outside Cairo.
