You will leave Cairo’s bustle behind and travel into the desert to visit Saqqara and Memphis. Saqqara is home to the Pyramid of Djosser, one of the oldest stone structures in the world, and Memphis was the ancient capital of Egypt around 5,000 years ago. Along the way you will also visit two pyramids of King Sneferu, seeing different examples of early pyramid construction. A guide will accompany you throughout the trip to help deepen your understanding of these ancient sites. As you move through the ruins and monuments, you will hear about their historical significance, construction and the role they played in ancient Egyptian life. The experience focuses on seeing the key landmarks at Saqqara and Memphis while gaining context and explanation from an expert guide.
