You will travel to Bahariya Oasis in Egypt’s Western Desert and then venture out into the surrounding sands to visit the distinctive Black and White Deserts. As you move through these historical landscapes, you will see stark geological contrasts and wide open desert scenery. Along the way you may learn about both the cultural and geographical features that shape the area, from oasis life around Bahariya to the unusual rock formations and chalk fields of the Black and White Deserts. Your guide has a long personal connection to this region, having explored the desert since childhood and built up knowledge of its history through years of experience. If they have the honour of introducing the Black and White Deserts to you, they will aim to share that local knowledge and help you feel the character of the place. The emphasis is on a genuine, informed experience that combines the area’s natural features with its cultural background, rather than a generic tour.
