You begin in Cairo at the Giza Plateau, standing beneath the Great Pyramid of Khufu and the Sphinx, then trace the story indoors among the royal mummies and gilded treasures of the Egyptian Museum. A flight carries you south to Luxor, where the East Bank holds the colossal columns of Karnak and the processional avenue leading to Luxor Temple, while the West Bank hides the painted royal tombs of the Valley of the Kings beneath the cliffs, with the terraced Temple of Hatshepsut and the seated Colossi of Memnon close by.
