Overzicht
Je rijdt van Cairo naar St. Catherine en arriveert daar in de middag om je te installeren voordat je de volgende ochtend vroeg vertrekt. In de vroege ochtenduren word je wakker en beklim je de berg in het donker, zodat je de top op tijd voor zonsopgang bereikt. Vanaf de top kunt u de zon zien opkomen boven het omringende landschap en vervolgens ondergaan richting de vallei beneden. Na de afdaling bezoekt u een van de oudste kloosters van het christendom, het klooster van St. Catherine, dat gebouwd is rond de plek van de brandende struik. Tijdens uw wandeling over het kloosterterrein ziet u de eeuwenoude architectuur en de locatie die met die Bijbelse gebeurtenis in verband wordt gebracht. Na uw bezoek kunt u ontbijten en vervolgens keert u terug naar Caïro.

Bring the warmest clothes you own even for those experienced in cold weather. Double layer socks, 2 shirts, poncho or jacket, thermal pants. The hike is challenging and occurs in complete darkness but is absolutely safe. You will complete the hike with both a tour guide and a Bedouin guide (2 helpers). There are multiple shelters and stops on the way that serve food. It is a 3 hour hike for those in excellent shape with no stops for rest. Most rewarding hike of my life as a follower of Christ.
Our group of 7 people did the overnight Mount Sinai tour (from Cairo and back) with Sun Pyramids Tours (Mahmoud and 2 other amazing people), and it was one of the best experiences of our life! The trip was in a comfortable, air conditioned van, and there was plenty of space for everyone. The drive to Mt.Sinai from Cairo is around 6-7 hours, but you make some stops at some stores, so you can buy some coffee, some food, etc., and the trip doesn't seem as long.
