Other highlights include the Khonsu Temple, the avenue of ram-headed sphinxes, and walls intricately carved with hieroglyphics depicting religious and political life. Visit in the early morning or late afternoon when the light is most beautiful and the crowds are thinner. Allow 2-3 hours to explore, bring water, a hat, and sunscreen as the area is largely exposed to the elements, and consider making multiple visits to fully appreciate this overwhelming jumble of ancient remains
