Vous explorerez Garbage City, un bidonville situé au pied de la colline de Mokattam, à la périphérie du Caire, et habité par des chrétiens coptes. Dans cette zone, sept églises et chapelles sont dissimulées à l'intérieur d'un réseau de grottes. En parcourant le quartier, vous découvrirez ces églises troglodytiques et vous comprendrez à quel point la vie religieuse est imbriquée dans les rues locales. En parcourant les rues chaotiques de Garbage City, vous visiterez l'église Sainte-Simone, également connue sous le nom d'église troglodytique, et admirerez des sculptures récentes qui décrivent le voyage de la Sainte Famille en Égypte. The tour is highly recommended. Abdul is an excellent guide. He provides interesting information about the history of Egypt and the locations visited. He gave us a lot of useful tips for other planned visits and our stay in Cairo.
I loved our guide, he was so knowledgeable, informative and such a nice person, Hitham was definitely the best guide we have had to date in Egypt and made this tour memorable, loved our time. Would highly recommend doing any tour with him, even though we were doing garbage city his knowledge on Alexandria, pyramids and history surpassed the actual guides we had for those tours and we learned more about those places by just chatting to him than when we actually visited. Thank you Hitham you are the best
You get to see parts of Cairo that you wouldn’t venture into by yourself. There were just two of us on the tour and our guide Haitham and the driver were very accommodating. Haitham is very knowledgeable and was able to answer all our questions.
The pickup was on time and the guide and driver were very friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed the trip to St Simone Church through garbage city. However, the visit to City of the Dead was very disappointing, consisting of a 15-minute walk on the fringe of City of the Dead and not in one of the more interesting parts of it. My assumption was that we would go and see another part of it when we went back to the car, but they said that it was it and wanted to take me to a cotton, perfume or papyrus shop. They were kind to drop me off at a location different to the hotel as I wanted to go and see someth
This four hour tour was actually about an hour and a half. I did this Dan tour with another company years ago and it was fabulous!! Really got to learn a lot, see garbage city from different perspectives, drive through the city if the dead where people revitalized it. This tour was a joke. 1.5 hours, mostly spent driving and the “tour” of the city if the dead was just literally pulling over on the highway to look at it. Garbage city was driving through quickly to and from the caves, no stopping, nothing. Very, very disappointing.
