Overview

Your experience begins with pick-up from your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle and a professional tour guide. Along the way the guide will give a brief introduction to the history of the pyramids and pose fun, interactive questions to set an engaging tone. On arrival at the Giza Plateau you will get a first panoramic view of the three pyramids — Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure — and a simple explanation of why they were built and how they differ. There is a professional photo stop with the three pyramids in the background. You may choose an optional camel ride around the monuments for different photo opportunities. You will also visit one of the side pyramids — either Queen Hetepheres’ Pyramid or one of the smaller queens’ pyramids — and learn about the role of queens during the Old Kingdom. The visit finishes at the Great Sphinx, where the guide will explain the meaning of the statue’s human head and lion’s body and share mythical stories and facts about the “Guardian of the Giza Plateau.”
