This experience centres on the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM). Your guide is an Egyptologist with experience in dealing with tourists, and a modern air-conditioned vehicle will collect you. Along the way and inside the museum the guide will explain Egyptian history and the construction of the new museum. You will move through highlights such as the Great Hall, the unique obelisk and the Great Staircase, which contains a selection of artefacts described as illustrating the confusion between kingship and divinity. The museum’s 12 halls hold a large and valuable collection reflecting Egyptian civilisation, and for the first time you may see all the treasures of King Tut displayed together as well as the Solar Boat of Khufu. There is also an option for a full-day outing that combines the GEM with a visit to the Giza pyramids and the Great Sphinx. If you choose the combined tour, you may have the chance to go inside the Queen’s Pyramid. Along the way you will have free shopping time and time to explore on your own. At the end of the tour you will be dropped off at your destination.
