Overview

This private archaeological visit takes you to the Valley of the Kings on the West Bank of Luxor, a rock-cut necropolis excavated as the burial place for New Kingdom pharaohs and privileged nobles. As you move through the site with your Egyptologist guide, you'll learn about the history and culture of ancient Egypt and see the colourful scenes that decorate the tombs—images of mythologies, beliefs and funerary rituals that tell the stories of the afterlife. The valley contains 63 tombs and chambers, and your guide will explain their significance and the archaeology behind them. The visit includes entrance to a selection of royal tombs such as King Tutankhamun’s tomb and those of Seti I, Merenptah, Ramses III, Ramses IV and V, and Ramses IX.
