Tour to Ramesseum Temple & Medenit Habu Tour
A trusted partner experience, hand-picked and featured on This is Egypt.

Overview
A guide will pick you up from your hotel in Luxor to begin a visit to Medinet Habu on the west bank of the Nile. The Mortuary Temple of Ramesses III at Medinet Habu is an important New Kingdom structure. Aside from its size and architectural importance, it is probably best known as the source of inscribed reliefs that depict the advent and defeat of the Sea Peoples during Ramesses III’s reign. As you move through the site, you will see these carved scenes and the temple’s surviving architectural elements. You will then proceed to the Ramesseum, the funerary temple of Ramses II on the west bank of the Nile at Thebes in Upper Egypt. The temple is famous for its 57-foot (17-metre) seated statue of Ramses II and was dedicated to the god Amon and the deceased king. The surviving walls are decorated with reliefs that include scenes of the Battle of Kadesh, the Syrian wars and the Festival of Min, which you will be able to view and consider in the context of New Kingdom royal monuments.
