Tour to Museum, Citadel and Old Cairo

Overview

A Tamer Safari representative will pick you up from your hotel and take you to some of Cairo’s most significant historic sites. Your visit begins at the Egyptian Museum, which features artefacts from the Pharaonic period and a collection spanning 5,000 years of art. More than 250,000 objects are on display, including the Tutankhamen collection of treasure, gold and jewellery that were enclosed in his tomb for over 3,500 years before their discovery in the 1920s. You will then visit the Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque inside the Citadel of Salah El Din. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant. Afterward you will continue to the area of Islamic Cairo, and then move on to Coptic Cairo to see the Hanging Church, the Ben Ezra Synagogue, the Church of St. Barbara and the Church of Abu Serga. Along the way you will have the chance to explore these different neighbourhoods and their historic sites. Later you will be transferred back to your hotel.
