There you’ll visit the vast Karnak Temple complex, whose ancient name Ipet‑isut means “the most sacred of places.” As you move through the site you’ll see the great Hypostyle Hall, a striking forest of giant pillars that was built and expanded by generations of pharaohs over more than two thousand years. Along the way you’ll enjoy lunch at a quality restaurant, then continue to the West Bank of the Nile River. You’ll view the colossal statues of Amenhotep III, known as the Colossi of Memnon, and explore the Valley of the Kings, where royal tombs were cut deep into the desert rock and richly decorated for the pharaohs’ afterlife.
