Sunrise at Mt.Sinai and St.Catherine monastery.
A trusted partner experience, hand-picked and featured on This is Egypt.
Overview
You will follow the biblical history of the sacred mountain, believed to be where Moses received the Ten Commandments. The experience includes a climb to the summit (2,285 metres) to watch the sunrise. The ascent can be demanding, but you will reach the peak in time for the view, then continue down to visit St Catherine's Monastery at the foot of the mountain. Be prepared for cold conditions on the summit and bring warm clothing such as a jacket, gloves and a hat. You may want to take hot drinks in a thermo cup and some snacks. There is an option to rent a camel for part of the journey, but note that the final section involves about 750 steps you will have to walk.
