Overview

A classic Sinai desert evening rolled into one outing: engines, camels, a Bedouin feast and a sky full of stars. You are collected from your Sharm El Sheikh hotel in the afternoon and driven out to a desert safari base on the fringe of the mountains, where you are kitted out with goggles and a scarf for the ATV quad bikes. From here you ride out across the open desert in convoy, kicking up dust along the tracks with a guide leading the way and a stop for the sweeping views back toward the coast. Back at camp, you swap the quad for a camel and take a gentler loop across the sand as the light softens. As the sun drops behind the hills, a Bedouin camp welcomes you with sweet tea, a grilled dinner and the chance to sit by the fire; away from the resort glare, the desert sky opens up for stargazing. It is an easy, high-spirits evening that packs a lot into a few hours, and it suits families and groups as much as couples. Wear closed shoes and clothes you do not mind getting dusty, and bring a light layer, as the desert cools quickly once the sun is down. Transfers are included.
