Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx and Memphis and Saqqara Tour

Overview

This guided tour takes you to the Pyramids of Giza, where you will see the famous pyramids of Khufu, Sheffrin and Mykerinos and have plenty of photo opportunities. You will also visit the Valley Temple — the site where priests prostrated the body of King Shifrin — and take a closer look at the statue of the Sphinx, the legendary guardian beside the funerary complex with its black body and the head of King Chevrin. You will continue to Saqqara, 16.7 miles (27 km) southwest of Cairo, to visit the Step Pyramid designed by King Djoser, an important stage in the evolution of pyramid construction from simple forms to the familiar shape. The tour also explores Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt, where you will see the monumental statue of Ramses II and the Great Sphinx of Alabaster, which date back to around 3100 BC. Your tour concludes back at your hotel.
