Yes, we rode a camel around the nine pyramids of Giza. The best part of the ride was being entertained by Omar Sharif (his real name) as our guide. At 45 he has 35 years of experience. He not only knew his camels, but told us a lot of interesting stories about the pyramids. He said that tourism has fallen since the Arab Spring in 2011. We found Egypt very safe and (with one exception) the people are very friendly. For me, it was a very pleasant check on my “bucket list!”
