You’ll be picked up from your hotel in Cairo for a visit to El Fayoum, with all main stops located in Wadi El Rayan, a Protected Area. The trip includes time at Qarun Lake and a free walk around Tunis Village, where you’ll enjoy wide views of the lake and surrounding desert. You’ll also see the Wadi El Rayan waterfalls and have the chance to try sandboarding on the nearby dunes. Lunch will be served at a good quality restaurant. Optional visits may include Wadi Hitan (the Valley of the Whales), which lies within the Wadi El Rayan Protected Area and was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in recognition of the 40‑million‑year‑old whale skeletons found there. Along the way to the waterfalls you may stop at Mudawara Mountain before continuing to the Wadi El Rayan waterfalls. Wadi El Rayan is a natural depression in the western desert made up of two lakes connected by Egypt’s only waterfalls.
