    The guide was not involved with us at all. We left before the shops were open. We were told to start at 8 and received a message in middle of the night that we were starting at 9.

    Guide was not well coordinated. He was going to bring me to the wrong market. However, things worked out in the end though there was scant commentaries from the guide.

    Der große Bazaar gehört zu den Pflichtveranstaltungen jeder Kairo-Reise. Dabei tummeln sich hier in den Seitenstraßen im Wesentlichen Ägypter, lediglich die Cafes am großen Platz bei der Moschee sind - auch preislich - auf Touristen eingestellt. Der sehr kundige und freundliche Führer, der stets Getränke und kleine Süßigkeiten zur Stärkung bereithielt, wusste zu manchen Häusern und Geschäften interessante Anmerkungen zu machen, beispielsweise zu einem versteckt in den verschlungenen Gassen des Bazaars gelegenen Cafe, welches einem bekannten ägyptischen Schriftsteller gehört.
