Private Full-Day Tour: Discover the East and West Banks of the Nile in Luxor

Your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Luxor and take you to the west bank to begin exploring the city’s ancient burial and temple sites. You will start at the Valley of the Kings, where tombs built more than 5,000 years ago lie underground. The site contains about 63 tombs, including those attributed to Tutmosis I, Tutmosis III, Tut‑Ankh‑Amun, Ramses VI and Amenhotep II. Along the way you will learn about the tombs’ significance and their role in Egypt’s royal history. As you move on, you will visit the mortuary temple built for Queen Hatshepsut, constructed for her religious rituals, and see the Colossi of Memnon, two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. Crossing to the east bank, you will explore the Karnak Temples, described as the largest ancient religious site in the world and founded by a ruler of the 12th dynasty. The tour finishes at Luxor Temple, built of sandstone and later used as a headquarters for the Roman government during the Roman Empire. Throughout the experience you will see these key monuments and gain context about their history and importance.
