Overview
On a private day trip from Aswan you’ll visit two Nile-side temples with an Egyptologist guide. First you’ll travel north to Kom Ombo Temple, a unique double temple dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon-headed god Horus. As you move through the site your guide will explain the meaning behind the stone columns, the forecourt and the sanctuaries, helping you understand the temple’s layout and the rituals once practised there. After an included boxed lunch you’ll continue to Edfu, the large cult temple to Horus. At Edfu you’ll see the massive pylon, the inner court and the temple chambers while your guide unveils their history and symbolism. After the visit you’ll return to Aswan, or you may choose an optional hotel drop-off in Luxor.
