Overview
This private guided tour in Cairo will take you to a range of Christian and Islamic sites so you can learn about Egypt’s religious history and see its major landmarks. You’ll visit early Christian places such as the Church of Abu Serga (St. Sergious) and the Fort of Babylon, then move on to St. Barbara, the Hanging Church and the old Jewish Synagogue, Ben Ezra. As you move through these historic neighbourhoods, your guide will explain their significance and the stories behind each site. You’ll also explore Islamic Cairo, including visits to Amr Ibn Elas Mosque and the Ibn Tulun Mosque, and you’ll pay a visit to the Salah El Din Citadel. Inside the citadel you may step into the Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali and take special photos from the citadel’s panoramic viewpoints.
