Overview

This three-day, customised programme lets you explore the highlights of Cairo and the Mediterranean city of Alexandria. It is arranged to cover the most important sites, but you may reorder the days to suit your preferences — they can be taken consecutively or on separate dates. On the first day you will visit the three Pyramids of Giza and the Egyptian Museum, where you will see iconic ancient monuments and artefacts. The second day takes you to Alexandria, visiting the pillar of Bombay, the Roman theatre, the Alexandria Library and Qaitbai Citadel, giving a sense of the city’s long history along the Mediterranean. The third day focuses on Islamic and Coptic Cairo: you will see the Hanging Church, explore the Coptic Museum, visit the Citadel of Saladin, and enjoy a walk through the main Bazaar (khan el khalili Suaq). Along the way you will move between major landmarks and experience both ancient and medieval layers of Egypt’s heritage.
